is a motivated group of Americans who are tired of living in fear of their government because of marijuana prohibition. We are fed up with the intrusion into our personal lives, with urine testing at work and at school, with armed home invasions, and with the possibility of prison because of a plant. We are Americans and we do not piss in a cup for anyone but our doctor!
We feel it is time for the 12 million Americans who smoke marijuana on a regular basis to stop hiding their love for this plant and unite as one large body of voters to demand an end to the unconstitutional prohibition of marijuana and the drug war. The US cannot lock-up 12 million people. The War on Drugs causes more harm than the drugs themselves ever will. United we are a potential 12 million vote political machine. We want to live free and we must be determined to stand up, be counted, demonstrate, rally, and write. Waiting for the government to silence us is not an option. Too many of our brethren are there, in prison right now.
More Americans are in jail today for non-violent drug offenses than at any previous time in American history. More Americans are in jail today for marijuana offenses than at any previous moment in American history. The war against marijuana is a genocidal war waged against us by a government determined to eradicate our plant, our culture, our freedom and our political rights.
What Does the USMJParty Do?
The United States Marijuana Party is here to help citizens take control of our out-of-control government and to return the power to the people as it should be.
We are patriotic citizens who firmly believe in the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
We organize Marijuana Parties in states across the US.
Right now 10 states have Marijuana Parties.
We are striving hard to have all 50 states represented by the end of 2007.
If you do not have a Marijuana Party in your state, START ONE NOW!
Our plan is to run canadates in local, state, and the national elections and to debate this issue whenever, and wherever the opportunity arises.
How Can You Help The USMJParty?
You can help by making a donation, starting or supporting a Marijuana Party in your state, orginizing rallies and protest, and writing letters to the editors and your state representatives calling for an end to marijuana prohibition and the drug war. Another thing that anyone can do is simply talk about the issue with friends, relatives and co-workers at every opportunity. The more we push this controversial topic into the spotlight to be discussed, the sooner the night-mare of prohibition will come to an end.
It's not what others do, it's what you do!
HOW CAN THIS PLANT BE A CRIME?

VERMONTERS DON'T WANT TO PISS IN A CUP Written by crisericson on 2006-06-29 10:03:39VERMONTERS DON'T WANT TO PISS IN A CUP FOR THEIR DOCTOR. Vermont Medicaid patients are forced under duress to submit to testing for illegal drugs by their own doctors who threaten that they won't prescribe medicine necessary to function unless the patient submits to testing for illegal drugs. The State of Vermont pays for this testing so it enables the doctors to threaten the patients under duress. The ACLU in Vermont refuses to help stop this abuse. Has the ACLU become corrupt?
MPP Written by RichRawlings on 2006-06-29 11:14:39Cris, Is the Marijuana Policy Project doing anything in Vermont to help with this?

on 2006-06-30 21:46:47I haven't heard from MPP.
My complaint about forced-under-duress drug testing of Vermont Medicaid patients is listed on the first page of my Primary Election Campaign website,
http://crisericson.com
I will be in the Primary Election in Vermont on September 12, 2006 as a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate.
If you go to http://www.vtgop.org
and click on candidates or go to
http://www.vtgop.org/Candidates/
you should see my name listed as the third candidate for U.S. Senator for Vermont 2006
and there is a direct link from the Vermont Republican Party to my campaign for the primary election
http://crisericson.com
Most of the issues are in alphabetical order and Marijuana Legalization is on the list.
If you click on Marijuana Legalization it takes you to http://makemarijuanalegal.com
I discussed this with Denny Lane last night, that now there is a link from the Vermont Republican Party to my website and that Marijuana Legalization is listed on the first page of my primary election campaign page.
Denny laughed and said, "I wonder how long that link will last".
Vermont is an open ballot system, meaning that anyone can collect 500 petition signatures from registered voters and get on a major party primary, it doesn't matter if the chairperson or anyone else in the major party doesn't like you, because Vermont is an open ballot system, it is up to the voters who to put in the primary and on which party.
So, the other Republican candidates probably think of my appearance on the Republican website as some kind of legal hostile corporate takeover. Cris

on 2006-07-04 13:51:00I decided to call my congressman out on his med mj vote , I am trying to get him to respond to me and answer why he voted to keep locking up med mj patients. Here's the letter I sent it to him as an open letter so I am trying to get as many to read it as I can.
Dear Representative Roger Wicker
My name is Ryan Breedlove and I am a constituent of yours here in Amory Mississippi. I am writing to you today in regard to your recent vote on the Hinchey-Rohrabacher Amendment (roll call 333). I understand you voted no on the Amendment. As I am sure you have your reasons for making such a vote, I would very much like to hear them. You see, Representative Wicker, I am a person who listens. And I believe those who hold positions of leadership must first listen before they speak (through the voice of their vote) if they are to be effective in their positions. Do you believe you have listened to the voters? I feel you have not. The following information you may not have heard but I pray you will. Every single poll and poll initiative since 1995, 80 in total, has come back pro for medical marijuana. Even though Mississippi based poll initiatives have yet to be done, does that not sound like the people are trying to tell you something?
Some recent national polls:
From the MPP National Poll Done by Mason-Dixon Polling in June 2005.
A. "Should the federal government prosecute medical marijuana patients now that it has been given the okay to do so by the U.S. Supreme Court?" 68% pro medical marijuana 16% neutral medical marijuana 16% con medical marijuana
B. "Do you think adults should be allowed to legally use marijuana for medical purposes if their doctor recommends it, or do you think that marijuana should remain illegal even for medical purposes?" 65% pro medical marijuana 15% neutral medical marijuana 20% con medical marijuana
The AARP National Poll Done by ICR Polls in Nov. 2004.
"Should adults be allowed to legally use marijuana for medical purposes, if a physician recommends it?" They returned a 72% pro response for medical marijuana. The other responses where not reported.
If you would like to get the full details on these and the other 78 polls, please go to http://www.medicalmarijuanaprocon.org/pop/votes.htm. You can see both sides of the argument while you are there. I think it is time that we stop wasting tax payer money on locking up cancer and AIDS patients, along with anyone else who gets a recommendation from their doctor. It crowds jails and wastes resources. I also think it is time we started an open and honest discussion about the issue of drugs in America because before we can fix our drug problem we must address our drug war problem. Drugs are a medical issue. They shouldn't be made into a criminal one. I am sending this to you as an open letter which I will also be sending to local newspapers. It is already on my blog where I will be posting your response. If you choose not to respond, I will be posting that as well.
Thank you in advance and I await your answer.

anyone think I will get an answer?
President Written by RichRawlings on 2006-07-04 20:23:00Thanks for posting your letter to your Rep. Ryan!
All should write their Rep. if they voted for the Amendment or against it. If it was a yes vote Thank the man or lady. if it was a no vote let them know how you feel about it. Let them know you will not vote for them in the next elections and you will tell your friend, family and co-workers not to vote for their ass. Folks this is the only way to change things, the power of the pen!
