In these last hours before the election, we are asking everyone to read Rev. Walter Albritton's letter in support of Joe as our "Mustard Seed of Faith" (Matthew 17:20).

A Word from Joe:
WE LEFT IT ALL ON THE FIELD AND IT FEELS GOOD!
Great coaches tell their players to 'leave all of their best efforts on the field' and have no regrets about winning or losing. That's how I feel on this election eve. By God's power and your vote/support we will emerge victorious on election day. As I retire for bed on this election evening and prepare for the last vigorous day of Get Out The Vote, I am reminded that so many people have given of their time, lives, money, prayers and talents to help us win this election for the people of the third district. I have truly been humbled by the outpouring of prayers, support and the overwhelming sense of commitment exhibited by so many persons that I never met before this campaign. I am only the messenger of a much larger movement of people that believe that democracy and government can still positively affect our lives.
While being grossly outgunned by the money of Mike Rogers and the NRCC (and all the communication it can buy), I can truly say that our campaign was special in many respects. We never relied on outside influences who determined every course of action. We spoke our piece...clearly and truly. People that never before gave to a campaign or worked for a candidate were a very special part of this effort. We set new paradigms of achievement as we engaged voters on many issues and ways of debate.
I am disappointed that the republican machine was so negative, shrill and deceitful...God can forgive all, but truly judges all. They appealed to the worse that was in us and they found it... with many voters believing the lies. But our campaign truly inspired many people to want to believe in what is right about life and what is positive about democracy. I know it was not a fair fight...life and politics never are. But we are hopeful that justice will prevail as the votes are tallied and as the declarations are made. Let it be known that we all 'left it all on the field with no regrets.' Thank you to each one of you who played a part of this outstanding effort. Forward to victory!
STATESMANSHIP, NOT PARTISANSHIP PUTS AMERICA FIRST!
As this campaign draws to a conclusion on Tuesday, it is clear one difference has surfaced in the last several months between Mike Rogers and myself...Mike has made this race soley about protecting the republican majority, and the leadership of his own party. I have been consistent in saying that I support issues and the will of the people of the third district as my top priority - in other words, people first, party second. In straight terms: I am not a lackey for my party. I will vote my heart and will fight for the issues of justice, equality, healthcare reform (including prescription drug relief), economic development and job creation, veteran fairness, social security, homeland defense, fair trade, environmental protection/cleanup, among other issues.
I will support our president when I feel he is right on defending America abroad, I will fight him when he tries to privatize social security. We can't put our party before the welfare of our nation...that's not putting America first. Mike recently said if he repudiated the National Republican Congressional Committee and asked them to stop slandering me..."they don't care what I think" he was qoted as saying in the Mobile Press Register. What?...he let's them run his own campaign speding millions to elect him and slander me and he can't tell them to tell the truth? What will Mike Rogers do when they want to expand NAFTA and Fast Track or privatize social security? Will they listen to him then?
As a pro-life, pro-second amendment small businessman and United Methodist Layspeaker I know how to stand up for my beliefs and will put America First in the United States Congress. Let's put statesmanship over partisanship. You can do that when you vote Tuesday. May America win!
Joe
