After ducking and dodging questions on his negative record for Georgia families during the first televised debate between candidates, Saxby Chambliss lied about his vote against the Federal HOPE scholarship program and his support of privatizing Social Security.

Children clustered on the floor in front of him and Max Cleland was in his wheel chair, but with a disarming smile and honest humor he soon was down there with them.

Cleland came to Hannan Elementary School on Monday to share a book with fifth-graders. It celebrated people's differences, but before the United States senator read the first word to the students he applied its message to himself.
