Max Cleland today received an endorsement by the National Farmers Union
for his leadership in addressing the challenges confronting rural America.

15, 2002 Children clustered on the floor in front of him and Max Cleland was in his wheel chair, but with a disarming smile and honest humor he soon was down there with them. Cleland
came to Hannan Elementary School on Monday to share a book with fifth-graders.
It celebrated people's differences, but before the United States senator
read the first word to the students he applied its message to himself.
