A Word from Joe:
HEAVY POLITICAL ARTILLERY WON'T DISLODGE THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE
The Turnham campaign is truly being tested by the heavy artillery of special interest money behind the scene manipulation of political operatives and the mutunity of a losing candidate...but still to no avail...we are in this race to the finish and plan to win.
This week alone the Vice-President came to town at a private, high dollar affair (no media questions or general public allowed) to raise money for our opponent and coax a losing democratic candidate to endorse our opponent. We met with senior citizens at an open forum at the Farmer's Market.
Despite the power from the top, our campaign sees the steel in the eyes of the average voter and senses the anxiety they have to change the political landscape away from "top down" power and big corporate money in politics.
My heart has been warmed by the dozens of persons who are praying for this me, my family and this campaign. We sense a feeling of purpose and real connection with people who are concerned about our economy and where the nation is headed. We are thriving, even though our opponent and powerful forces are trying to knock us down early. It is because of a righteous cause and a campaign built on the issues and dreams of the people of east Alabama. Thanks, and let's keep up the great fight. We are winning and they know it. Joe
TOTAL COMMITMENT TO NATIONAL SECURITY
A commitment to national security and homeland defense should not be a partisan issue. The Joe Turnham for Congress Campaign is clear in its support of our leaders and military/law enforcement in their efforts to defend our land against any and all threats. As a congressman, I will vote to give our men and women the tools they need to fulfill their duties. I will also keep our government's promise to them in their old age and infirmity. Our government is warning us of future terrorist attacks in our country. We must never live in fear, but always be prepared and be diligent to defend our land and people against any threat - foreign or domestic. We can debate appropriate American policy, best use and allocation of financial resources, demand and expect forthrightness from our leaders...but let me always be clear in my intention - America and her people are first and foremost in my mind and worthy to be defended at all costs! Freedom is never free and the costs incurred in the pursuit of justice, righteousness, and national security are not to be measured in dollars but by the sacrifice and faith of our people. May God Bless America and forever in peace may we reign!
