Sign the petition to save the pledge

Take a stand for God and Country and let Joe know that you support his plan for amending the Consitution by signing this petition to protect our Pledge.

A Word from Joe:

HONDA ANNOUNCEMENT PROOF THAT THIRD DISTRICT WORKERS CAN GET THE JOB DONE!

This week's announcement that Honda in Lincoln, Alabama would add production and up to several thousand jobs to our local Alabama economy is the best testimony to the fact that the men and women of east-central Alabama can produce the finest, high-tech products of the 21st century as well as anyone.

This announcement should also be a signal to political leaders that we need to embrace our people as our greatest asset in economic development. We must invest in our own people's latent abilities. This commitment should be evident in our willingess to fund public education, vocational and adult education. We should be prepared to give our citizens the skills and tools they need to chart their own course of success in a changing economy. The reality is that the 3rd district has much going its way, but not every person or community is sharing in the prosperity. Textile workers have lost jobs. Many factories are realing from the declining economic picture. Many persons are working at jobs that are below their skill or educational level. This means that the wages and salaries are not sufficient to cover the needs of families. College tuition has skyrocketed and the need for workers to have adequate child care and transportation is quite evident.

Any political rhetoric in political campaigns in the next 114 days that does not include tangible ways to empower the workers of Alabama is empty and hollow and voters should be wary of platitudes without substantive proposals.

Our campaign plans to engage you in a real debate about how we can capitalize on the Honda fervor and spread this same spirit of enterprise to small businesses and shop floors and offices throughout the third congressional district. I welcome your thoughts and suggestions. Joe

Joe Turnham & Family

TOTAL COMMITMENT TO NATIONAL SECURITY

A commitment to national security and homeland defense should not be a partisan issue. The Joe Turnham for Congress Campaign is clear in its support of our leaders and military/law enforcement in their efforts to defend our land against any and all threats. As a congressman, I will vote to give our men and women the tools they need to fulfill their duties. I will also keep our government's promise to them in their old age and infirmity. Our government is warning us of future terrorist attacks in our country. We must never live in fear, but always be prepared and be diligent to defend our land and people against any threat - foreign or domestic. We can debate appropriate American policy, best use and allocation of financial resources, demand and expect forthrightness from our leaders...but let me always be clear in my intention - America and her people are first and foremost in my mind and worthy to be defended at all costs! Freedom is never free and the costs incurred in the pursuit of justice, righteousness, and national security are not to be measured in dollars but by the sacrifice and faith of our people. May God Bless America and forever in peace may we reign!
