  Question of the Month
  The Economy

What do you think are the most pressing economic problems (pick as many as you agree with):

Lack of access to health care

Unemployment and the lack of good jobs

Lack of affordable housing

Lack of investment capital to create new companies and new jobs

Lack of fiscal responsibility on the part of the government

Decline of the stock market

Which of the following actions should Congress and the President take to revitalize our economy (pick as many as you support)?

Compromise on a balanced budget plan - and put everything on the table, including Democratic spending priorities and Republican tax cut priorities - in order to eliminate deficits and pay down the debt.

Increase funding for job training and education

Enact tax cuts that will stimulate growth and create jobs and freeze portions of last year’s tax cuts that have not gone into effect that will have less impact on economic growth.

Increased spending for transportation and infrastructure

Pass meaningful pension protection legislation so people are more comfortable investing the market

Congress should do nothing; the economy is cyclical and will rebound on its own
