What FEMA Is Doing: In addition to normal 24-hour coverage, FEMA's Emergency Support Team has been activated at its Washington, D.C. headquarters as well as operations centers in FEMA's 10 regional offices in order to closely monitor national developments and ensure a rapid federal response if necessary.

What You Can Do: While Americans should continue to go about their regular business, there are steps that can be taken to make sure homes and families are better prepared in the event of an emergency:
