I herd about the disaster in class early today. About 8:50. It looked just like a movie. It just gave me the shakes. I mean, two of the largest, most important buildings in the world, gone. And all those people. It's just staggering to think of. And I also think about how it could have been here, in Indianapolis. Two acts in one day coulld change how we do buisness forever. It's something tat really makes you think.
Beth
I feel that this act of terrorism was done out of hatred.I don't know what it is like to go through a war but this is, in my lifetime, it is close enough. It's incredable. I have never seen anything like it,and I hope that no one ever does have to go through it again. I have this feeling in my stomach that makes me feel sick.

Today it seemed as thought it would be a regular day. That is until i walked into my English 4 class and heard the news. We listened to the Frantic reporters tell about what was happening. The idea of our country being attacked is a terrifying thought. Many of my friends are worried that this might lead to war. Personally, I don't understand how someone could hate so much as to kill innocent people. My friends and I don't want this to lead to war where even more people could be harmed or killed. Whether American or other. Now is not a time for violence and more hate, but a time for peace. We need to do whatever we can to help those whose families have become the victims of this terrorist attack, and to make sure that whatever happens next, we will not be shaken. We must stick together. It's our only way of survival.
Becca H.
This is so wrong! What's even worse is that they killed so many innocent people. Think about all the kids who woke up w/out a mom or dad or both. And all of the rescue workers and firemen who lost their lives because of this stupid act of terrorism. all we can do is pray for the family and friends in New York and D.C.,and try to help support them.
Kelly
Obviously this event will go down in history books as one of the most terrible and devastating in the United States. I think that the most horrific part of this tragedy is that someone would hijack a plane full of innocent people and fly it into a building. Imagining what those people went through will haunt me forever.
Kelsie
THE AFTERMATH OF THIS TRADGITY IS ONE OF THE WORST THAT THIS GENERATION HAS EVER SEEN. SEEING ALL THOSE PEOPLE HURT AND KILLED REMINDS US ALL OF FRIENDS AND FAMILY. IT'S TIMES LIKE THESE WE NEED TO TAKE TIME TO REFLECT ON OUR LIVES.
All of McCord Junior High Students, Sylvania Ohio

It's pretty morbid that someone could go along doing such a bad thing to so many people and to themselves
Johanna
I look at the terroism going on today, and feel an emotion of shock and pain. I have, like many americains cried for the victims of this unholy act, but yet I do not feel that these victims are being given the proper respect that they so deserve. We have plastered there death moments and injuries on anything that people can find to get the ratings up. I only hope that the president that we have elected, can and will take the appropriate actions. My faith of people has actually increased.

I AM SCARED

Almost every one of my aquantiences have said, "WE'RE AT WAR YA'LL!"

IT is so horrible what happened today. WE should really declare war it is not right that the ********* are celebrating of what happened we should go there and bomb them they should do what ever they have to do to find who did this and kill him .
anonymous
At school we watched and discussed the terrible news. There is nothing we can do. It is done and over with.
CJ
tHE TERRISOM ATTACKS THAT WERE REPORTED TODAY WERE TOTALLY MESSED UP. PEOPLE NOW
THINK THAT A WAR WILL BREAK OUT BECAUSE OF THIS. I WISH WE COULD JUST END IT.......
stephanie
i think that the terrorist attack has no meaning. Why would any one want to bomb the World Trade Centers? i think it was totally stupid and sick!! i hope the terrorist gets caught and they end up like Timmothy McVey did!
anonymous
todays terroism, I think is just the beggining. We were already supposed to have such a great security system, I feel very unsafe. As of tomorrow at noon when plains start flying again who's to stop more attacks; despite what I am told about the future of america I am insecure about today. I want to see tomorrow. I will not fear these attacks because if so then so will the rest of us and the terroist will have won. I send prayers to the victims and hope to end this madness and have what little peace we had before.
Tiffani
There is no excuse for taking the innocent lives of people in the two buildings. What those people did will affect the U.S.A. and the families that had relatives taken forever. I think the people who did it were just looking for trouble. Innocent people were killed for no reason today.
Carolyn
It is horrible how someone would and did take thousands of innocant people's lives. I can't understand that.
Lindsay
I feel sorry for the people who lost their family members or a close friend. Whoever did this should be punished. What If they are punish and their country or "people" get mad at us and start this whole thing over again or worse? I don't want anymore people to lose their lives over something stupid as a terroist attack. This is a day that will live in impamy. I probably had some long lost relatives that were in that and I didn't know it and I didn't know them. I'm sad and even though I'm only 13 I want to do my part to help by giving blood or something else.
Christy From Eden NC
Personally I think that Bush needs to get to the bottom of everything but I also fear the outcome of our Country and if llegal action takes place exactly what will happen? Much prayers go out to Washington and NY.
We can only hope for the best adn expect the worse.
Alyson
I hope whoever did this (I have a few places in mind) gets sentenced to death by electric chair or is already dead! We didn't do anything wrong..I think! I mainly think its either ********, ****, or *****. Whoever it is.....well, you get the point.
Sara
How can we show such hate for one another? Just when we think no one is going to try to hurt us this happens. We lost to many people today. I fear for my life today and I thought I would never have to. I wanted to cry, I wanted to run home and be with my family. There isn't a thing I could of done to stop this. We need to hope this will all end and not end in a war of any sort.
Josh
I think that the terrorists are sick and twisted to destroy the twin towers. They just went too far this time!
Rachel
Has anyone noticed that the terroist attacks occured on September 11, 2001? 9-11-01? 9-11? 911; emergency signal? Is that a coincidence or was it planned?
Geralyn
This moment of silence message is dedicated to the thousands of innocent people who died in the horrible incident. Please, take a moment to reflect on exactly what has happened. I think that this is a horrible day and it all just seems like a movie, I can't believe this is happening, it's like a living ****. I live near Pittsburgh and I am so scared, I just want everything to be back to normal. Why do people have to be so cruel. I pray for a the victims and their families.
Karri
I think that what happened today was not right. Not only does it make America look bad, but it's people also. And it doesn't help the people of the U.S. feel safe either.
Beth
Some kids don't realize how big this is, but it really does effect our whole country. War could be a huge result of this, and all of us are effected by it. Because we are the biggest power in the world, other countries are jelouse of us, and they thought that bombing our most important buildings would weaken us.
Chad
I think it was stupid because, they toke alot of lives and that was a important building. It was stupid to take it out because lots of children has no parents to come home to. They now have to go to a foster home because nobody will take care of them. That building costs 1 million dollors and now we have to pay for anotjer one.
Stephanie
This is a very cowardly attack on whoever led this attack. I will not stop watching the news until they find the person(s) who did this.
Sam
The events that have taken place today have truly affected me beyond words. The disbelief, fear, and sorrow have by far outnumbered anything I have ever felt. This horrible tragedy has conjured up worries that I have never thought about. Obviously, one big thing on everyone's mind is war. Of course, that is also a large fear of mine. I am not old enough to be drafted, but the thought of war still scares me. It is the type of thing that you read about in history books and think "This was 100 years ago, this stuff doesn't happen now", but attacks such as this make you re-think that statement. I have thought a lot about the choices we, as a nation, have. We can do the he "humanitarian" thing and say "Well, war is bad, so we will not bring it to that". This would not work for the fact that if we didn't retaliate, it would make us look vulnerable and weak, and we don't want to risk more of these terrorist attacks. We also cannot make it look like we don't care about the thousands of lives that are sure to be lost. But then again, war is something that no one wants. We have to find who did this and make them pay. As harsh as that may sound, we cannot sit back and say "Oh, too bad" to such a huge stab to our country. This attack goes completely against what our country stands for, and we cannot let it simply pass. So is there a way to meet in the middle and solve this problem? Is there a way to get revenge on the country that has hurt ours so badly without breaking out into war? I hope a solution can be reached, but I really don't see any other solution than the dreaded three-letter word. This attack hasn't just hurt the people directly involved. Of course, it has killed thousands of innocent people and deeply hurt their loving friends and family, but it has damaged our country. Not only emotionally, but economically. I now see on television, that gas prices may raise up to 20 cents extra per gallon around the world, due to an inability for it to be shipped. I am not trying to sound drisrespec!
tful and say that gas prices are more important than these inncoent lives, but this is just an example of the many different ways this tragedy will affect not only our nation, but the world. Who knows what this selfish, deeply painful, ignorant, and completely unjustified act will cause, but let's hope that we can save as many lives as possible and get through ths tragedy as peacefully as possible.
Laura
The attack of the World Trade Centers is a senseless tragedy. I first saw the crash in school and was speechless when I saw it. There are no words to explain it. How anyone could ever purposely cause such a tragedy I will never understand. I have the greatest sympathy for the victim's families because many people could never handle the pain of loosing their loved ones to such a horrific disaster. Many people will try to ignore this the attack, but it will forever change our lives in ways we cannot avoid. But while we can't change the past we must find any good that could possibly come out of this and use it to start to help bring back the safety we had before this horrible misfortune.
Jess
It's horrible that anyone would do such a thing...I hope that we catch who commited this terrorist attack and do as much as possible to make the terrorist pay for what they did.
Michelle from Indiana
I think this is so sad! Why would anyone want to break apart families like that! Just because they don't like someone or something dosent mean they have to take it out on everyone!
kim
I think it is so sad. My internet buddy lives in New York and I hope he is alright.
Amelia
These terrorist attacks are just the beginning of a series of attacks that are going to end up happening to the United States. I feel so bad about the people who died in all of
these attacks that I wi that I could have taken just one of their places, to be able to spare
a family all of their grief and sorrow. This is ridiculous and downright outrageous.
Marisa
My opinion is that the people behind the terriorist acts are an American group of anarchists. The goverment and people are already in chaos, which I think was the intent of the terrorists. 911, is also the American emergancy number, which could be irrelevent, but might not be.
Stephanie
Please keep the families of those in New York in your prayers, and pray that this is the worst that happens. God bless!
Pray for our Nation!
Stand by President Bush all the way! Let him know that we will be there for him! This incident has claimed thousands of lives! PRAY FOR THIS NATION! GOD BLESS!
David
The attack on the United States is an insult to the people living in it. As an American, I am outraged that innocent people were killed and had no time to even scream in fear. We, as a collective, need to analyze our own country. Our foreign policies have gotten the best of us. Now let's group our energies and find the cruel, heartless murderers who did this, and defend our rights as a free democracy. We, as a country, no matter how tough we are as an individual, should all shed tears that these children, parents, and friends, have been robbed of their lives. May God have mercy on us, and may we as America, truly "Trust in God"!!!

an eye for an eye leaves everyone blind
Kayla
I feel that this was a well thought out plan but whoever is out there should be thinking up a new one because this will not stand. America will not be brought down to it's knees. This powerful country will over come.
Morgan
I think the terriorist attack was an act of stupidity. It's pathetic someone has to ruin our country just because the way the it is ran. Those people should have thought before they have done this. Am I putting someone else's life in danger? That's what they should have thought of. Whay would you want to do such a cruel thing?
Todd
nothing this bad has ever happened in my lifetime. My school was in shock. Two of our teachers had children going to college in new york close to the trade center. We were all concerned both of them were okay but it's a weird feeling when people you know are involved. The people who did this should be brought to justice.Thomson Ga. Thomson Middle School
Amy
I say that this should have never happened because we have not done anything to hurt anybody latley and they should not hurt us thats what i say about this terrist attack.
Mandy
When I first heard the news that the World Trade Center was collapsed by an airplane, I was on a school bus on my way to a musuem for a field trip. My teacher just came out of the office and told us about the tragedy. After the field trip, we were back at school in our classroom watching the news. They had sent the National Guard to help find and dig out people. My uncle and my friend's father just happen to be in the National Guard. My friend is very upset. I keep telling her it's going to be alright though. I am very angry that some people are celebrating that this happened. My advice is to just chill out. They'll find whoever did this and there'll be a war of course. But everything will be fine.
Megan
When I first heard about the attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon I was really scared. I was totally petrified. I was frightened that a war would arouse. It was a horrible thing that happened. Whoever committed these faceless, devastating crimes is a abominable, heartless, and cowardly person. I could not believe why anyone would have a reason to do a terrible thing like that.
McKenzie
I feel remorse for the families and victims and think that whover did this should pay and now i am scared for what lies ahead
Matt
Living just ten minuits outside Harrisburg, PA, there were a lot of rumors that the plane that crashed near Pittsburgh was headed for us. While that does sound a little far fetched, it's not impossible. Harrisburg being the capital, there are several important buildings that could be potential targets. Then you factor in that PA is right between DC and NY. These rumors do have some facts to back them up, but I'm still not convinced. If there's school tomorrow(and there's a good chance there won't be)I'm not going to let that stop me. I'm not going to fall victim to rumors. I WILL go to school tomorrow.
Ashley
Let's be with the families that have sons in the force. Be with them as they might have to go off and fight. People we need to pray for them and our freedom as Americans. Let's be a team and pray.
Jessica
I have many emotions, as well as images of the tragedy in my head. I live about 15 minutes away from the Oak Ridge Facility, in Oak Ridge, Tn. If terrorists were to bomb the facility, there are so many chemicals that the bomb would cause the chemicals to blow up, almost like a nucular bomb, my family, friends, and I would be dead. I'm worried, and very scared! I always thought I would be safe from war, but with the Oak Ridge Facility so close, we truly aren't. I thank the Lord each day I'm here, and I want all my friends to know, if I die today, tomorrow, or any other day, I want them to know I love them!!!
