RETRACTIONS

Wall Street Journal retraction on October 8, 2001:

"U.S. officials with search warrants didn’t enter the office of the Holy Land Foundation, an Islamic charity based in Richardson Texas as incorrectly reported in an article Sept. 24."

Dr. Laura and her retraction on October 4, 2001:

". . .the Foundation maintains that its members and leadership, like most American citizens, reject terrorism, terrorist acts, and the use of violence in any form to achieve political goals, and that the Foundation has never provided any form of support to any terrorist group. I apologize to the Holy Land Foundation and its donors and supporters. I will never speak off the top of my head again, I am sorry."

Good Morning America and their retraction on September 24, 2001:

"In an early report on President Bush's Executive Order to freeze assets around the world, we said that certain U.S.-based charities (the Holy Land Foundation) had been accused of "getting funds to Bin Laden". This is not the case. We regret the error."

National Journal, to be published in October 13, 2001 issue:

"A recent National Journal story (Wanted: New Watch Powers, 9/29/01, p. 3011) erroneously reported that the FBI served search warrants on the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development and the Islamic Association for Palestine. No search warrants have been served. National Journal regrets the error."

Food Bank of New Jersey October 5, 2001:

After the airing of inaccuracies by local media, the Food Bank of New Jersey conducted their own investigation, temporarily suspending HLF’s membership. "After conducting our inquiry, we did not find that there had been a change in your organizations charitable status." The Community Food Bank has reinstated the Foundations membership: "It is not our intent to contribute to the problem and hysteria in this country against the Muslim community."
