Update: How the Red Cross is Helping New Yorkers

American Red Cross Service Centers have been (and still are) available to families affected by the World Trade Center disaster. Services offered include: food, rental assistance, minor household repair, replacement of prescription medicine, mental health counseling, spiritual support or any other disaster-related need.

The organization's Red Cross Gift Program also provides immediate financial assistance to the families of lost or injured loved ones. Gifts vary in size depending on each family's need, and can include living expenses, funeral and related costs and other immediate and relevant financial needs.
