President Directs Humanitarian Aid for Afghanistan
"We have no compassion for terrorists in this country. Nor will we have any compassion for any state that sponsors them. We have great compassion, however, for the millions around the world who are victims of hate, of victims of oppressive government, including the people who live in Afghanistan."  

Federal Response: Examples of Government Action Since September 11
Billions of dollars have already been released to assist in New York and the other impacted areas – and more funding is on the way. Examples of the important activities being funded in New York and the other areas include:  

President Calls NY Teachers "Heroes"
"I want to say to the teachers who work in the school and all throughout New York, how much we appreciate the courage that New York teachers showed. The teachers of New York were very heroic."
