President to Address Nation on Recovery and Response
Announcing he will speak to Congress Thursday night, the President said Americans "have got a lot of questions about what has taken place on September the 11th and subsequent to that. And I owe it to the country to give an explanation."
President Welcomes Japan's Support
Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi announced a
seven-point package of actions to support the U.S. and international
response to last weeks terrorist attacks in New York and
Washington.
Emergency Declared for New Jersey
The President yesterday issued an emergency declaration for the State
of New Jersey and ordered Federal aid to supplement state and local
response efforts in connection with the fires and explosions in the
State of New York on September 11, 2001.
